Project Archive: 2020–2023

KiKi & Associates began as a small but heartfelt initiative by artist Yukiko Kakimoto during the global pandemic of 2020.

At a time when galleries and borders were closed, the mission was simple: to keep the light of art alive and connect independent artists with the world.

While the project has now concluded its active phase, this site remains as a digital forest—a place to remember the beautiful encounters that happened when we needed them most.

Though time has passed, the soul within these artworks continues to resonate.

キキ・アンド・アソシエイツは、2020年のパンデミックの中、アーティストYukiko Kakimoto によるささやかな、しかし心からの試みとして始まりました。

ギャラリーも国境も閉ざされたあの時、私たちの願いはただ一つ――アートの灯を絶やさず、インディペンデント・アーティストと世界をつなぎ続けること。

プロジェクトとしての活動は幕を閉じましたが、このサイトは、私たちが最もつながりを必要としていた時期に生まれた美しい出会いの記録として、ここに残っています。

月日は流れても、作品に宿る魂は今もなお響き続けています。

MESSAGE from 2020

Since 2020, we have been living through an unprecedented time. It has become more natural to communicate online, while keeping physical distance from one another. In this uncertain world, we have been forced to pause again and again, as we continue to live through a global crisis. Many events have been cancelled or postponed, and much still remains unclear.

In this situation, as I looked at my own artworks sitting unseen, I began thinking about the many inspiring artists I had met overseas.

In whatever form, presenting artwork to the public always carries the possibility of connecting with someone who needs it. Wanting to support artists, I decided to take a small step and created “KiKi & Associates.” I believe it is important for us to help one another, regardless of country, nationality, or gender.

Love is expressed through actions. I sincerely hope this project can become a light for someone. Let us come together, move forward, and experience life fully with all five senses.

2020年から続く未曾有の出来事でこれまでの当たり前が当たり前でなくなった今、物理的に人との距離を保ち、インターネットを経由してのコミュニケーションがノーマルな時代になりました。世界中、どこもかしこも手探りの中、何度も立ち止まることを余儀なくされ、それは私たちが大きな危機の中で生きることを意味しています。
既に予定されていた多くのイベントや展覧会もキャンセル、延期となり、今後のスケジュールも未だ目処は立たず...その様な状況の中、日の目を見ていない自分の作品を整理しながら、私が実際に出会い、魅了された海の向こうにいるアーティストたちに思いを馳せました。どの様なカタチでも作品を表に出すことで、誰かと繋がる可能性がゼロではないと考えた時、現代のテクノロジーのチカラを借りて小さな一歩を踏み出すことを決めました。これからはより一層、年代や性別、国籍を問わず、お互いに助け合うことが大切な時代になると思います。愛は行動を通して表現されます。
